Thanksgiving Weekend: Yurts, Trails, and a Shop Small Extravaganza

November 6, 2017

For a unique Thanksgiving, head to the hills!

Local favorite Tennessee Pass Cookhouse and its luxury sleep yurts open for the season on Thanksgiving day. For a unique holiday experience, Nordic ski, or snowshoe a mile through the pines to a candlelit yurt for a gourmet dinner of turkey and the traditional fixings, or elk, trout, or more tasty entrees. Spend the night in a comfortable yurt warmed by a soapstone stove or in other cozy lodging, then check out the area trails.

On Small Business Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, treat yourself to a fun, stress-free day of holiday shopping without the mall crowds. Shop Leadville for unique local gifts—and giveaways just for you!

Start your day at the Leadville Visitor Center at 809 Harrison Avenue. Check in and receive a Shop Small tote bag, some gifts from us to you, and cookies to fuel you. You’ll find out about specials throughout town, so that you can save a little dough, and you can enter to win a Leadville gift basket.

Our historic town is full of unique gifts, including locally handmade items, sure to please everyone on your list. Come early for the coffee shops, and stay late for the cocktail party at Treeline Kitchen, with a complimentary cocktail from 4-7 p.m. Then dine at our lovely restaurants and spend a night or two in town for a relaxing weekend.

Small Business Saturday is sponsored by Leadville Main Street and the Leadville/Lake County Chamber of Commerce.
