Upper Arkansas River (Between Leadville and Buena Vista)

We are heading into fall in the upper valley and the river is fishing good.  We are seeing strong blue wing and midge hatches.  Try small baetis and/or midge patterns for droppers under a hopper in the pockets and shallow riffles.  Nymphing the deeper water is also providing consistent results.
