Two-wheeled travel lets you see the sights at your own pace, and the altitude kicks in a challenge. Leadville and Twin Lakes offers something for everyone with easy to difficult trails on singletrack, paved road or gravel roads.
Test out mountain singletrack at Timberline Trails , the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center, or the Colorado Trail. Ride the dirt roads in Leadville’s East Side Mining District to see abandoned mines and jaw-dropping views of the Sawatch Range. Test out the new trails at Turquoise Lake.
SUMMER ROAD BIKING
For a Leadville classic, ride the famous Mineral Belt Trail, a 12-mile paved loop around town with stunning views of old mines and the Sawatch range. Ride the roads around glimmering Turquoise Lake or, for an extra challenge, up the switchbacks to Independence, Fremont, or Tennessee passes along the Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway.
WINTER FAT BIKING
With 60 miles of groomed trails and plenty of sunny days, Leadville winters are made for fat biking fun.
WINTER TRAILS
Choose the Mineral Belt Trail or the East Side Mining District for above-treeline views of the mountains. These groomers also wind past mining structures, under a deep blue winter sky.
For forested scenery, loop ice-covered Turquoise Lake, check out the new trails at Turquoise Lake, or curve through the pines at Timberline Trails, both groomed regularly. Or explore a 15-mile groomed network at the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center, featuring rolling, wooded trails or winter-white meadows.
WINTER MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE SERIES
