Visitors are always welcome at the Lake County Public Library! Our mission is to provide equal access to all in the spirit of fostering lifelong learning, building community, and promoting diversity of ideas.

Visitors to Leadville can stop by and receive a Temporary Library Card with a refundable deposit. Photo ID is required and it expires after 3 months but has no limit on the number of books you can check out. Alternatively, we also offer an Easy Access Card that does not require photo ID or a deposit, but does require multiple contact methods, is limited to 3 books for check out, and expires after one year. Visitors can even check out puzzles from our puzzle library for free!

Take a self-guided tour through history! Our local history department is filled with locally focused historical books, references, photographs, and records for your personal research. A member of our local history team can help direct you to the best materials for your project in our historic Leadville Room.

We also offer free internet access and a quiet place to read while you’re browsing our collections of books and magazines for all ages. Additionally, we can make copies, scans, and faxes for you for a nominal fee. Our lobby’s bulletin board and our socials are great resources to check for current events. Stop by anytime!
