Leadville Visitor Center
The developed campgrounds in the San Isabel Forest are managed through Recreation.gov, near some of Colorado’s highest mountain peaks along the Continental Divide. This forest draws crowds of all types, from fisherman to horseback riders, from family reunion groups to small backpacking duos, from ATV riders to downhill mountain bikers. In this large, diverse forest, you can find and enjoy almost any recreational activity.
Please check current fire restrictions.
Reservation camping can be booked from 6 months ahead to 5 days ahead at Recreation.gov or 877-444-6777. Less than 5 days ahead is first come/first serve only.
Not all campgrounds have access to potable water, please plan to bring your own water. Water is available at the Leadville Sanitation Department at 911 US-HWY 24.
