FILMS

“SHERI” – FILM BY JAMES Q MARTIN FEATURING SHERI TINGEY FROM MANCOS, COLO.

Sheri Tingey has defied the odds. She started a packraft company at age 50 that has revolutionized the outdoor industry. The film is a story about the hurdles she overcame to launch the company, about the ways she hid from view so that people would judge the boats, not her role in creating them. It’s the story of her son, Thor Tingey, who has built the company alongside his mother but has only recently begun to fully grasp what she has created not just for him, but for adventurers who’ve used the boats to access remote and wild rivers around the world.

“TO THE TOP” – FILM BY F4D STUDIO BASED IN GOLDEN, COLO.

Chris and F4D Studio will attend in person

Chris has been training as a mountain athlete for roughly two years now. He mainly focuses on trail running and backcountry skiing. Last year Chris competed in Max Vert October through The Cirque Series, and he ran 250k uphill vert. Since then, he’s dug deeper into the backcountry and started to take his training to higher levels. Chris Fisher has decided to dedicate the month of October to winning this year’s Max Vert October. During this month, Chris will be pursuing a World Record attempt for the most vertical feet gained in one month. Chris has set out for a goal of 400k ft uphill.

“FROM MY WINDOW” – FILM BY FUTURISTIC FILMS BASED IN DENVER, COLO.

Melissa and Futuristic Films will attend in person

From her bedroom window, Melissa Simpson looks out at the highest peaks in Colorado. Despite being so close, the mountains have always been worlds away for Melissa, who was born with cerebral palsy. With the help of her friend and mentor, blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer, Melissa sets out to conquer something far greater than a summit. Through humility and grace, Melissa proves that what is within us is stronger than what’s in our way.

“PEDALING WITH PURPOSE” – FILM BY THE PUBLIC WORKS, DENVER, COLO.

Britt, Brooke, and The Public Works will attend in person

When professional mountain biker Britt Greer first reached out to Brooke Goudy, co-leader of Black Girls Do Bike Denver, to see how she could aid Brooke in introducing more women of color to the mountain biking community, Britt was met with some hesitancy. Was this white saviorism? After reflection from both Britt and Brooke, they decided to partner together to become mentor and mentee, and they became fast friends. To grow their relationship and help Brooke prepare for her first time leading a mountain biking clinic, Brooke and Britt hit the road for an RV camping trip.

“A THOUSAND CASTS” – FILM BY FELT SOUL MEDIA, GOLDEN, COLO.

Oliver White is not your typical fly fisherman. He gravitates towards the furthest reaches of the fly fishing world in search of new species to catch in locations many other anglers would not consider. Felt Soul Media joined Oliver on an exploratory expedition to weigh the possibilities of bringing conservation-minded anglers to the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan in search of the elusive golden mahseer on a fly rod. This journey takes the viewer beyond Felt Soul Media’s initial idea of an expedition within the Kingdom of Bhutan in search of golden mahseer. The audience dives deep into Oliver’s story, which is filmed in Bhutan, The Bahamas, New York City, and North Carolina.

“SHOWING UP WITH RACHAEL BURKS” AND WORDS FROM JULIAN CARR, GOLDEN, COLO.

The evening will end with a premiere of a short ski film featuring professional skier Rachael Burks, followed by a talk with professional skier, speaker, and entrepreneur Julian Carr.
